October 2020

Starting on Nov. 16, BNSF crews will be on-site to make repairs on the steel tower supports on the south side of our Salmon Bay bridge. There will be some temporary supports as part of the work. The work is expected to last about four weeks and crews will be working generally between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be some lane closures, but BNSF will work to minimize impacts as much as possible.

September 2020

  • The project is in the preliminary design phase. We anticipate submitting permit applications to appropriate agencies in the near future.
  • Construction will begin after permits are approved. Construction is expected to last up to three years.
  • Construction activities that could result in disruption of vessel traffic will be directed by the U.S. Coast Guard and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and will be communicated early and often to the maritime community.
  • BNSF will provide timely and consistent updates and outreach to affected stakeholders and neighboring communities.
